Participation by a student in an extracurricular activity may involve a certain degree of risk of physical injury. Such physical injury can occur in any type of activity, be it a “contact” or “non-contact.”
Furthermore, many injuries are truly accidental in nature, and by volunteering to participate in a school-sponsored activity, a student and his/her parents/guardians assume the risks for injuries to occur.
