High-risk winter sports to start Feb. 9; email & phone number set up for COVID-19 related questions, concerns

Update, Feb. 10: As part of the approved high-risk sports plan, BKW has set up an email and phone number where any COVID-19 related questions or concerns can be confidentially reported: highrisksports@bkwschools.org, 518-872-0909, ext. 5500.

Albany County Department of Health mandates have been met, and BKW is authorized to start high-risk winter sports beginning February 9. The first practice times will be as follows:

February 9:
Boys JV Basketball,  5:30-7:30 p.m., Elementary
Boys Varsity Basketball, 3:30-5:30 p.m., HS
Girls JV Basketball, 3:30-5:30 p.m., Elementary
Girls Varsity Basketball, 5:30-7:30 p.m., HS
Varsity Cheer Meeting 3:30p.m., Room 214, HS

Feb. 10
JV/V Wrestling 3:30 p.m., Wrestling Room

Coaches will provide more practice times during the first practice/meetings. Athletes need to complete the following to fully participate:

  1. A valid physical from either 2018-19, 2019-20 or 2020-21, on file with the school nurse.
  2. An athletic registration has been completed on bkwschools.org.
  3. A high-risk sports parental permission form on file with the athletic office.
  4. A high-risk sports medical authorization form on file with the athletic office.
