Principal Landry’s message – Oct. 7, 2021

October 7, 2021

Dear BKW Parent/Guardian,

Thank you for attending our virtual open house sessions last week. I hope you found the presentations from each of our grade-level teams informational and reassuring. Your children are amazingly resilient learners and we are very proud of them. It is not easy being a youngster these days!

If you were unable to attend the Google meet, please remember to sign-up for parent/teacher conferences on Tuesday, November 2, with your child’s teacher. For your convenience, these conferences can be scheduled virtually or in-person.

I would like to share some additional information regarding the activities planned for Friday, October 29. In a typical year, this would be the day of the annual Halloween parade. However, the 29th is a half day for students in grades pre-K-6. Students will be dismissed at 11:45 a.m. Due to the early dismissal and social distancing recommendations, there will not be a parade.

However, students are welcome to wear their Halloween costumes or holiday attire to school that morning. Grade-level teachers will be reaching out with additional information regarding the activities they have planned for their students that day. Parents may send pre-purchased Halloween goodies or order items from the BKW Meals Program.

Please be assured that we understand the importance of providing students the ability to enjoy these yearly celebrations and we are committed to creating these opportunities while continuing to be safe during the pandemic.
As a reminder, there is no school this Friday, October 8, due to the Superintendent’s Conference Day nor Monday, October 11, for Columbus Day.

My best,
Mrs. Landry
Elementary Principal
