BKW Elementary School students enjoyed March Taste Test Thursday today. This month’s Harvest of the Month was butternut squash. Nutrition Fact: Butternut squash contains beta-carotene, which is what gives squash its bright orange color. Students enjoyed NYS maple mashed butternut squash in the school cafeteria.
A dozen BKW 4th and 5th graders delivered Valentines, song, and smiles on Valentine’s Day once again this year. The Hearts for Seniors program, headed up by Mrs. Thurber and Mrs. McArdle is designed to teach and encourage empathy for the seniors in our community. Congratulations to BKW top athletes Alexis Wright and Tyler Goodemote for reaching milestones in their sports this winter. Wright scored her 1,000 point in Girls Basketball and Goodemote captured the 182-pound Class D Section 2 championship in Wrestling.

BKW Elementary School students enjoyed February Taste Test Thursday yesterday. This month’s Harvest of the Month was Beets. Nutrition Fact: Beets are rich in Vitamin C and keep your heart healthy. Students enjoyed a roasted carrot, beet, and potato medley in the school cafeteria.
The BKW Central School District has reach a new five-year contract agreement with its CSEA bargaining unit which represents about 50 employees from the custodial/maintenance, clerical, transportation and food service departments.
