School Counseling Office
School Counselors play an integral role, collaborating with students, teachers, other counselors, and administrators to ensure a student’s success in school and beyond. School Counselors address the academic, social/emotional, and career components of the success of a whole student, and tailor custom plans for each student so they can accomplish their own definition of success.
School Counselors will incorporate skills in leadership, advocacy, collaborations, and data analysis to focus on the goal of improving students’ achievement and create changes needed to impact the system and continue to use their counseling, consultation, and coordination skills to foster student development. The school counselor is central to all the participants involved in the education of a student, while having the equally important role of identifying the individual needs of all students.
School Counselors promote, plan, implement, and assess a comprehensive school counseling program for each student. School counselors ensure that every student benefits directly from the school counseling program with a motto of “students first.” BKW’s comprehensive school counseling program improves the continuity of services with students every day while meeting the needs of every student who comes through the School Counseling Center’s door.
