Mark Tidd, Principal
About the Principal
Principal Mark Tidd
Mark Tidd was previously the College Career Readiness coordinator for the district. In that role, Mr. Tidd has been actively assisting students with their educational progress, building strategies for students to experience regional employment opportunities, and working one-on-one with students on future goals and achievements. Tidd began his new role as principal on July 1, 2024.
BKW Secondary School is home to about 450 students in grades 7 through 12. Our teachers are committed to providing students with a well-rounded education that prepares students for higher education and the 21st century workplace.
Attendance
Secondary School classes begin at 7:45 a.m. Students are dismissed at 2:17p.m. If a student needs to arrive prior to opening, they must report to the cafeteria when entering the building and remain there until the buses unload. Those not doing so will be subject to discipline according to the Code of Conduct.
Daily attendance occurs during the first few minutes of the first period. Students arriving late are considered tardy to school and tardy to their first period class and must report to the main office to be signed in. Failure to sign in will result in progressive consequences. Students may also face disciplinary consequences from their first-period teacher.
Students staying after school for any reason must be under a teacher’s supervision at all times until 3:10 p.m. Parents are responsible for arranging for transportation from school at 3:10 p.m.
