Meet BKW’s Food Service Director

smiling woman in officeDear BKW Families:

I’d like to take a moment to introduce myself as the new director of the Food and Nutrition Department.

I am excited to be a part of the BKW community. Going forward, you will see a variety of new menu items and snack options. My goal is to provide students with wholesome, nutritious meals that keep them happy and intrigued.

Thus far, we have rolled out new menus at both the elementary school and the middle school/high school. In addition to the new menus, the high school will be serving specialty sandwiches, salads, and pizza on a daily basis. The elementary school will be serving a sandwich of the day as well as different alternate lunch items like hummus with veggies and pita chips. I look forward to bringing about more positive changes and diversity to the BKW meal program.

Prior to coming to the district, I served as senior staff dietitian for the Albany County Department of Residential Health Care Facilities. With me, I bring a vast knowledge of nutrition and food, as well as new ideas and an openness to your feedback and suggestions to the district. Please feel free to call or email me with any questions or recommendations. I look forward to making the BKW meal program a success.

Sincerely,
Claire Groudine
