BKW FFA members Mackenzie Lawrence and Zoey Lounsbury excelled in the New York State District 2 competition, placing in their events and qualifying to compete in the FFA Eastern Region Sub-States at the end of March.
Mackenzie placed 2nd in the FFA Junior Creed competition. Zoey placed 5th in the Senior Prepared Public Speaking competition with her speech, “The Future of Our Food.”
“We are so proud of Mackenzie and Zoey, and want to recognize them for their hard work and determination,” said FFA advisors and BKW teachers Michaela Kehrer and Sarah McArdle. “We also thank BKW teachers Bonnie Kane, for assisting with Zoey’s speech preparation, and Jared Slingerland, for helping as our videographer.”
This year’s FFA competitions are being held virtually due to the pandemic. Results of the Sub-States competition are expected to be announced in early April.
