Kiwanis, Builders Club, FFA improve Uhai Trail

Kiwanis Club and students put up bird house

On November 20, Nelson Kent and Russ Pokorny from the Helderberg Kiwanis Club worked with students in the elementary Builders Club, and their advisors Carey Raymond and Melissa Lindberg, to put up 20 bird houses along the Uhai Trail, which runs behind the school.  Thank you to Mr. Kent for the photos he took that day.

More Uhai Trail improvements are planned: Students in BKW’s FFA chapter, and advisors Michaela Kehrer and Sarah McArdle, will use grant funds from the Albany County Soil and Water Conservation Department to add signs noting unique plant life along the trail.

BKW is thankful for partnerships with the Kiwanis and the Albany County grant program in improving the trail for the benefit of all in the community.
