Important reminder about medications in school

Please do not send medication to school with your child. This includes all over the counter medication such as Tylenol, Motrin, Midol, etc…  It is against New York State Law and School policy.  If your child requires medication in school the following must be provided by the parent/guardian:

  • a written doctor’s order
  • written parent/guardian consent
  • the medication must be dropped off by the parent/guardian to the school nurse

Again, do not send the medication in with your child. There are very few exceptions where students are allowed to carry their medications in school, which requires a doctor order, parent consent and permission by the school nurse.
