On Monday, March 25, the Berne-Knox-Westerlo Central School District hosted a safe driving event for its high school students in the school gymnasium. The event, in partnership with The International Save A Life tour, Students Against Destructive Decisions (SADD), and the Albany County Stop DWI Program, created a dialogue with students on the dangers of driving under the influence and distracted driving. The district offered this event to focus on positive lifestyle choices for students to remain safe and sound on New York’s roadways.

“At BKW, we continue to work with organizations, groups, and individuals that bring added value to our students’ lives,” said Superintendent of Schools Dr. Mundell. “We continue to encourage our students to be their best and understand the impact of their choices. We are fortunate to welcome the International Save A Life tour to engage with our students and relay the important message of developing the skills to become a better motorist on our roadways.”

According to its website, The Save A Life Tour is a comprehensive high-impact safe driving awareness program that informs, educates, and demonstrates the potentially deadly consequences resulting from poor choices and decisions made by the operator of a motor vehicle.  Additional information can be found here.
