During the week of April 24-28, nearly 70 students from 19 area school districts represented Capital Region BOCES during the SkillsUSA New York state competition. For this year, a dozen SkillsUSA New York State Champions and medalists from the Capital Region BOCES Career & Technical Education Center (Albany and Schoharie campuses) made their school districts proud. For BKW, that included senior Jeffrey Caron. Mr. Caron was part of the state champion CSI team, which included fellow Criminal Justice students Rhiannon Islip from Sharon Springs and Mason Welch from Duanesburg.

“We are thrilled for the success of our students that participate in the Capital Region BOCES Career & Technical Education Center programs,” said BKW Secondary Principal Mrs. Kane. “To see their abilities come to light is truly remarkable. We are excited about Jeffrey’s achievement and his ability to succeed and thrive in this competition.”
