Change: Breakfast/lunch information for students during school closures – pickup now deliveries

Dear BKW Community,

The district will be providing meals during the school closure to any student in the BKW school district starting on Tuesday, March 17.
IMPORTANT NOTICE;
Beginning Wednesday, March 18 the district will be making home deliveries to all who are in need of a breakfast and lunch. All are welcome to receive breakfast and lunch meals free of charge. If you are interested in meal delivery, please call the transportation office at 518-872-1126 and leave your students name and address.

In order to save time, resources and to limit the exposure to others, beginning on March 23 we’d like to deliver 5 days worth of breakfast and lunch to the families on Monday.
Note: As of March 25, backpack program deliveries are being combined with Monday deliveries.
We will be sending a bus to the Green Acres Mobile Home Park, Pine Park and Leaning Evergreen.  If you see a bus, and we haven’t stopped at your home, please stop us so that we may distribute your packages.
We are working with our town partners in making sure everyone is fed; if you know of someone in need, please reach out to the Amy Santandrea at the Transportation Department.
Thank you and stay healthy and safe!
Here is what you need to know:
  • Meals are for children who attend BKW schools.
  • All meals will be at no cost to the family.
  • Alternate options available for allergies.
  • Additionally, through many generous donations, we will also have representatives from the Town of Berne Youth Council accompanying us on Tuesday and Thursday to distribute food bags to anyone in need at these sites.
