This week, BKW Elementary School fifth graders received a welcome surprise from our community partner Stewart’s Shops. The special visit coincided with Stewart’s Shops delivering a $500.00 check to support our students in their efforts to learn and grow.
Earlier this year, BKW Elementary School Math Teacher Ms. Fisher submitted a grant proposal for Stewart’s Shops to enable fifth-grade students to visit 5 WITS at Crossgates Mall. The purpose of the trip is to use their math skills to participate in live-action environments while using their knowledge to solve unique puzzles and challenges.
“We are incredibly fortunate to have community partners like Stewart’s Shops that support our student’s success,” said BKW Elementary School Principal Mrs. Landry.
What’s the Holiday Match Program?
The Holiday Match program raises funds that benefit local children’s organizations. For the 2023-24 program, Stewart’s Shops raised over $2 million dollars for area groups, including schools. To learn more, click here.
