BKW Elementary School raises over $1K for the Ronald McDonald House Charities of the Capital Region

What’s better than fundraising for an important cause?

For the past eight years, BKW Elementary School students have shown off their reading skills while bringing some much-needed attention and fundraising for the Read for Ronald McDonald House Charities of the Capital Region (RMHC-CR). This year, our elementary students raised $1,487.50 to benefit children and families that utilize the RMHC-CR services and support efforts.

The Read for Ronald McDonald House Charities of the Capital Region is a reading-based community service program that empowers elementary and middle school students to develop lifelong reading skills while supporting children and families served by RMHC of the Capital Region.

BKW Elementary School students selected the month of February to begin tracking their reading progress. Students then tracked each minute they read and encouraged family and friends to sponsor their reading efforts.

Great job by all of our participating elementary students!
