Berne-Knox-Westerlo School District is using a new app called ParentSquare for parent/guardian notification emails, texts and app notifications. ParentSquare is a parent engagement tool that will help our schools easily communicate and collaborate with parents.
ParentSquare automatically generates an account for each parent/guardian, using their preferred email address and phone number as listed in the BKW Parent Connect Parent Portal. BKW will begin using ParentSquare at the district level and expand its use as the school year progresses.
BKW has been using Blackboard Connect and a variety of other tools to communicate with our families. The district will continue to use Blackboard during the transition to ParentSquare.
ParentSquare will help align communications procedures from the district level to the classroom. It will give our families a single platform to receive information in their preferred method and at their preferred time of day. We are excited to provide our families with a communications tool that has more robust engagement features, an app for mobile users, language translations, and more. The app is secure, and it is easy to install, use and update.
Many schools are using ParentSquare with excellent results. We believe our BKW families will find ParentSquare to be an effective, user-friendly communication tool. To learn more about this program, visit our ParentSquare webpage.
