Help fill our Boxes of Love

As the holiday season approaches, we begin to imagine family gatherings at which we share a hearty feast. For many, this tradition will not be possible. For one reason or another, families find themselves in difficult situations, short on money and short on food. At a time like this, we have the opportunity to show kindness within our community.

The Elementary Student Council is asking for help in providing families in our schools with a full holiday dinner. From Nov. 25 through Dec. 13, Council members will collect donations of food from each pre-K through 6th grade classroom through Boxes of Love.

The Council hopes to have each classroom fill a Box of Love with the items listed below and then will provide a turkey or ham to accompany each box.

Please consider providing any of the following items:

  • Canned vegetables/gravy/fruit/cranberry sauce, etc.
  • Boxes of stuffing, potatoes, macaroni & cheese, etc.
  • Boxed dessert mixes, frosting
  • Peanut butter/ jelly
  • Individually packaged snacks (Goldfish, Cheez-its, fruit cups, juice boxes, etc.)

Any extra food will be used to help support the Backpack Program and feed students over holiday breaks.
