BKW students participate in Youth Summit

Last week, BKW students participated in the Northeastern Community Action Partnership’s Youth Summit held at the Albany Capital Center. The purpose of the event was to gather area (Albany County) middle and high school students to encourage them to make healthy choices.

At least 1,000 students participated in this year’s event, which brings health-based experts from across the nation and community organizations to highlight mental health, addiction issues, and self-care.

“Each year, this event really connects with our students as we seek to collaborate with students from across Albany County. By participating, we get a better understanding that we all have similar battles, no matter our location,” shared BKW Secondary School ELA teacher Mrs. Snyder. “We would like to thank our community partners at Helderberg Kiwanis for funding transportation for this year’s trip.”
