BKW cheerleading captures Class D title at Section II championships
For the second year in a row, the BKW cheerleading team captured the Class D title at the Section II championships hosted at Troy High School on February 28. The back-to-back sectional champions continued their winning ways after competing against outstanding cheer programs from Stillwater Central School District, Fort Edward Central School District, Academy of the Holy Names, Greenwich Central School District, Mayfield Central School District, and Northville Central School District. Upon winning sectionals, this year’s team went on to state competition in Binghamton, NY on March 7th.
“This year’s championship was incredibly special,” shared BKW varsity girls cheerleading Coach Camlynne Greco. “Our student-athletes just displayed an unbelievable drive to do what we did this season. All 16 girls made an impact on this championship season. We couldn’t be prouder of their effort.”
This year’s cheerleading team had a solid competition record during the regular season, finishing in the top three in standings for each competition. When not competing, this year’s squad helps keep the Bulldog Spirit moving at the school’s Pep Rally, numerous athletic events, and the Youth Cheerleading Camp. Special shout-out to our seniors Diana Colavito and Emma Detlefsen!
