The Berne-Knox-Westerlo Secondary School winter athletic teams were recognized by the New York State Public High School Athletic Association (NYSPHSAA) as student-scholar teams for the 2023-24 winter athletic season.
According to the NYSPHSAA website, a team’s average GPA for 75% of the roster must be greater than or equal to 90.00 to receive recognition.
“Our student-athlete’s dedication to achieving their academic goals in the classroom and within their respective sports is remarkable,” said BKW Athletic Director Mr. Galvin. “We are incredibly proud of their achievements representing our school district.”
During the 2023-24 winter athletic season, the following varsity teams achieved student-scholar status:
Boys’ Basketball
Girls’ Basketball
Cheerleading
Boys’ Indoor Track
Girls’ Indoor Track
Wrestling
