Varsity wrestler Gabe English cemented his legacy as one of New York’s elite athletes by becoming a Triple Crown Winner for the 2026 wrestling season. Gabe is one of only two wrestlers in the state to secure the Triple Crown milestone this year.
The Triple Crown is one of the most difficult honors to achieve in the sport, requiring a wrestler to win state titles in all three major styles: Folkstyle, Freestyle, and Greco-Roman. Gabe was named the NYSPHSAA Folkstyle State Champion in March, and then took the top title for both Freestyle and Greco-Roman during the USA Wrestling state tournament earlier this month. He went a perfect 8-0, finishing every single match by either Technical Fall or Pin.
