BKW senior and varsity basketball team member Ryan Murphy proudly wore his grandfather Bob Stevens’ letterman sweater to his Senior Night on Feb. 8.
The athletic tradition stems from Bob, a 1961 graduate, who participated in basketball, cross country, baseball, soccer and track, and continued with Ryan’s mother Megan, a 1995 BKW graduate. The sweater symbolizes a rich tradition of school pride in Ryan’s family. Megan remarked that it was wonderful to listen to Ryan and his grandfather discuss their athletic experiences at BKW.
Athletics, clubs and other afterschool activities continue to unite BKW’s students, families and staff and inspire Bulldog pride, a foundation of the district as a place of “Three towns, two schools and one community, where we all belong.”
