Dear Parents and Guardians,

Happy Spring! I hope you are enjoying the recent change in the weather. The warmth and sunshine has certainly brought a feeling of happiness to the building along with many smiling faces. Our students are patiently awaiting the completion of the primary playground. We are hopeful it will be completed on Wednesday, May 18.

As the end of the year quickly approaches, I would like to share some important dates and information with you.

Tuesday, May 17:
Superintendent’s Conference Day
There is no school for students in grades Pre-K – 12.
District Budget Vote
Voting will be held from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. in the elementary school cafeteria.
Kindergarten Registration
Registration for the fall of 2022 will take place from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the elementary school. Parents must sign in at the main office upon arrival with their child. Please contact Mrs. Dibble in the main office with any questions.

Wednesday, May 18:
BKW Ag Day
During the school day, students will learn about all things agriculture with a variety of activities, displays and presentations led by members of our BKW FFA Chapters. Students will also finish the day with an ice cream social with their classmates.

Wednesday, May 25:
NYS Science Assessment (practical)
4th grade students will sit for the NYS Science practical assessment.

Friday, May 27 – Tuesday, May 31:
There are no classes for students in grades Pre-K -12, due to Memorial Day and unused snow days.

Monday, June 6:
NYS Science Assessment (written)
4th grade students will sit for the NYS Science written assessment.

Thursday, June 9:
Last day of Bulldog Club
Thank you for a great year!
Elementary Spring Concert
The concert will begin at 7 p.m. in the high school auditorium. Additional information will be provided by Mrs. Zayacheck and Mr. Slingerland in the coming days.

Friday, June 17:
6th Grade Moving Up Ceremony, 8:30 a.m.
Pre-K Moving Up Ceremony, 9:30 a.m.
Additional information for both ceremonies will be provided in the coming weeks.

Monday, June 20:
No school – National Juneteenth Holiday

Thursday, June 23:
Last day for Elementary students
Dismissal at 11:30 & buses at 11:45 a.m.

Elementary Summer Enrichment Activities
BKW will be hosting several summer programs free of charge to our students, including STEAM Camp, Dance Camp, Drama Camp, Cheerleading Camp, Art Camp and Ready-Set-Go programs for students in grades Pre-K through 6. Specific information regarding registration, dates and transportation will be sent home within the next few weeks.
