COVID-19 case reporting – Nov. 30, 2021

November 30, 2021

Dear BKW families,

The administration has been notified that one individual in the elementary school and seven individuals in the secondary school have tested positive for COVID-19. All were last in school on November 24.

We are working closely with the Albany County Department of Health on contact tracing. The Department of Health will reach out to all contacts and advise them concerning quarantine, testing and other health-related instructions.

Please note that the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) and other privacy laws restrict us from disclosing or confirming any personally identifiable information. We cannot identify anyone who has tested positive.

We know it is important to keep you informed while also respecting the federal and state laws that prohibit the release of confidential medical information.

We continue to work closely with county health officials and follow their guidance on how to maintain a healthy learning environment. Thank you for your cooperation and partnership in keeping our schools safe.

Sincerely,
Timothy Mundell, Ed.D.
Superintendent of Schools
