A message to the Class of 2022

Dear Freshman Students, Parent/Guardian(s):

We have just finished up our Thanksgiving season and it is now time to think about the men and women serving in our militaries during the Holiday season. They continue to fight for our freedom so we are able to spend those valuable moments with family and loved ones.

This year as your class advisors, we thought it would be nice to have you/your child create a “Holiday at Sea” Box to send to the seamen and women who will be on the North Atlantic, far from family and friends during the Holiday season.

What a significant, yet simple thing to do; grab a shoe box and fill it with some of the following items:

  1. Knit cap or gloves, work gloves
  2. Warm socks
  3. Writing paper, envelopes, pencils, pens
  4. Comb or brush
  5. Book
  6. Toiletries- razor, shaving cream, after shave, tooth brush, corn-starch, etc.
  7. Something from where you are from (maple syrup, honey….)
  8. Batteries (AA, AAA, C, D, 9v)
  9. Any other item that would fit and be appreciated!

Please bring in your box and bring it into the school for Mrs. Lounsbury and Mrs. Snyder and we will be sure it is sent out and received by the appropriate people. We would love to get our kiddos in the giving spirit and recognize our service members for their hard work! Please send your un- wrapped, filled boxes into school by December 12, 2018 and we will have a “wrapping party” together!

Thank you in advance for all of your help and donations. If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to call us at 518-872-1482 or email at Alicia.lounsbury@bkwschools.org or Erin.Snyder@bkwschools.org

Warm regards,
Alicia Lounsbury and Erin Snyder
