Oct. 26, 2011
The Third National Prescription Drug Take Back Day is Oct. 29, 2011 from 10 a.m.–2 p.m.
Turn in your unused or expired prescription and non-prescription medications for safe disposal.
Unused prescription and over-the-counter medications that remain in the home can cause serious harm to people if they are taken accidently, intentionally misused or inappropriately given to someone else. Studies show that a majority of abused prescription drugs are obtained from family and friends, including the home medicine cabinet. Unused medications that are flushed down the toilet or poured down the sink can enter the water supply, harming fish and other wildlife and posing a potential risk to people.
If you have unused medications to get rid of, bring them to a local collection site on Saturday, Oct. 29 between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. Collections sites are:
