The
alarm sounded, and BKW students and staff filed orderly out of the
building during a fire drill today.
New York State Education law requires that public schools hold 12 fire drills each year so that students would be able to leave the school building in the shortest possible time and without confusion or panic in case of an actual emergency.
During a drill, everyone must exit the building and meet at a designated spot on campus, where attendance is taken.
Drills are timed, so it is important that everyone exits quickly and orderly.
Once outside and all students and staff were accounted for, Principal McGurl called an end to the drill and everyone returned inside to continue with their day.

Students return to class after the drill.
