On Friday, Sept. 30, the BKW school board members authorized Superintendent Dr. Paul Dorward to request a 21-day extension for school tax payments as provided by Section 925-a of the Real Property Tax Law because severe flooding has impacted a number of families throughout the district. The request has been sent to Gov. Cuomo for approval. If approved the new final date for tax payment without interest or penalty would be Oct. 21, 2011.
