The BKW Cheerleaders are front and center
– not
just at the school basketball games, but in the Capital Region and even
nationally.
In December, the American School Spirit Awards ranked BKW as the 7th best all-around cheerleading program in the country. While the number of applicants is undisclosed, the Universal Cheerleaders Association stated that there were "many creative and unique entries this year."
The UCA picked their top 10 squads by choosing teams they felt exemplified dedication to community service, outstanding athletic support, spirit raising activities, and high academic standards.
Keely Duffney,
the BKW Cheer captain was also
recognized locally by WNYT News Channel 13 in the Capital Region as the
"player of the week" for the week of Dec. 26.
She was honored for her academic success, cheerleading skill, community service and school spirit. View the news segment that aired about Keely below and check out one of BKW’s finest student-athletes.
Congratulations to both Keeley and and entire BKW Cheer team for your continued success and great achievement.
