BKW Juniors and their guests danced the night away at the Junior Prom on Saturday at Riverstone Manor in Scotia.
The attire wasn’t the only formal aspect of the night. The students were so courteous and mannerly that they received rave reviews not only from BKW staff, but also from the staff of Riverstone Manor.
“In all my years as a principal and a teacher, I’ve never seen a bunch of kids so well behaved,” Secondary School Principal Tom McGurl said. “The staff told us they were one of the best groups they’ve worked with and we’ve been invited back any time.”
About 125 students attended the prom. Students enjoyed an hors d’oeuvres hour before feasting at the dinner buffet and then moving to the dance floor. Josh Richards and Carlie Bassler were named Prom King and Queen 2011.
“I was very pleased with the entire evening,” Junior Class Advisor and BKW teacher Brian McCoy said. “The food was great. the music was good, River Stone Manor was excellent, and the students were very well behaved and well mannered.”
“There wasn’t even a single issue,” McGurl
added. “I was very impressed.”
