spent a day cleaning at Berne Historical Society.
Berne-Knox-Westerlo Elementary School students Marcy Forti, Laura Grippen, Jacob Hemmingway, Marianna Nagengast, Willow Ruiz, Emily Shafer, Marleanna Von Haugg, Drew Wideman and Jake Wideman helped prepare the Berne Historical Society for the summer season by volunteering to spend a day cleaning.
The project was coordinated as part of the Berne Historical Society’s goal of partnering with BKW students in its efforts to provide field trips to historical local land marks, have students do research in the museum, participate in essay/poster contests for the Memorial Day Parade, volunteer to clean up the Museum, or even be tour guides in the summer. The purpose is to have students become more aware of their own family history, come to value the relationship history with their lives, and one day become members of the Berne Historical Society.
