Regents exams, but will continue with plans to do away with
assessments in other subject areas this school year due to
state budget cuts.

officials analyzing state test scores released July 28
Scores released July 28 on this year’s English
and math exams in grades 3-8 showed a sharp decline in proficiency for
districts across the state, including BKW. Although BKW students have shown
steady improvement on the state English Language Arts and
math tests in recent years, a significantly lower percentage
of them achieved proficiency on the 2009-10 exams.

With the green trees of Mount Uhai standing tall

School culminated a month-long scientific study of trees
June 17 by planting a sugar maple in honor of Arbor Day.
