Attendance
Regular attendance at school is a key component to a successful
experience. When students are absent from school, their
parents/guardians must call 872-0939 to report the child's
absence. When a student returns to school, a written note
from the parent/guardian is required.
Sign-In/Sign-out policy
Sign-in: If a child arrives late to school, the
parent/guardian must accompany the child to the office to obtain
a late pass. A late pass must be issued to the student before he
or she returns to class.
Sign-out: When picking up a student early, the
parent/guardian must sign the student out in the office before
the student is permitted to leave.
Bus
passes
When a student needs to take a different afternoon bus, a bus
pass from the parent must be delivered to the main office. No
bus passes or telephone call changes will be accepted during the
day, unless there is an extenuating circumstance.
Student phone use Students are
not permitted to use the telephone in the main office to
remind parents of school events, lunch money, instruments,
clothing items or homework. Students are allowed to use
the telephone if there is confusion about after-school
transportation or destination.
Homework procedure
All work missed due to an illegal absence must be made up within
a week of the student's return. It is the responsibility of the
student or parent to notify the student's teacher one week in
advance of an anticipated absence so that the student may obtain
work that they will miss. Teacher may use their discretion as to
assigning what work they will require to be completed.
Winter weather policy Students go
outside daily unless the wind chill is severe. Children need to
have appropriate clothing each day, including winter coats, snow
pants, hats, mittens and boots. Neck warmers are helpful in our
windy weather, especially for anyone with asthma. Covering the
nose and mouth warms the air they breath. Note: Neck
warmers are much safer than scarves. Scarves can become
entangled in
playground equipment. |
