►JV Soccer is back and off to a great start

After five years with no Junior Varsity team, JV Soccer is back
at BKW and began the season strong. The team participated in the
first annual Voorheesville Soccer Tournament on September 5 and
6, competing against the Voorheesville Blackbirds, the Hudson
Blue Hawks and the Taconic Hills Titans. The Bulldogs took 2nd
place!
►Varsity
Soccer Team undefeated so far this season
The BKW Boys Varsity Soccer
Team is off to a winning start this 2008 season. The team is
currently undefeated with a 4-0-1 record. All five games played
as of 9/11 have been shut-outs. The team also finished second in
the Fort Plain Soccer Tournament held September 5. The game was
a real nail-biter - after going scoreless through
regulation
play and two overtimes, the game was decided by penalty kicks,
which Fort Plain won 4-3. Jacob Tambasco and Ryan LaBelle were
named to the All-Tourney team. Brandon Galgay was named Most
Outstanding Defensive Player while Greg Hannay won the honor of
Most Outstanding Goalie.

Code of Conduct for
Athletes
Athletics provide an opportunity to develop
qualities of sportsmanship, citizenship, and personal discipline
in addition to physical athletic skills. Student athletes of
BKW are expected to represent themselves, their
school and community in a positive and respectful manner.
Students should be aware that participation in the BKW
athletic program is a privilege and not a right. Regulations are
in effect 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
BKW maintains a proud and very successful
athletic program. This positive representation can only be
upheld if athletes’ conduct is held to a high standard.
Main components of the code include attendance, academic
eligibility, alcohol, tobacco & drugs, and citizenship and
sportsmanship. Violations to this code can range from game
suspensions to removal from the team.
All current athletes were given an athletic handbook. Extra
copies of this document are available in the middle school/high
school office.

Athletic Code of Conduct (PDF file).
